- Welcome to the PhotoModeler LX Demo CD
- ======================================
-
-
- Introduction
- ------------
- This CD-ROM contains a demonstration version of PhotoModeler LX,
- the program for converting photographs into 3D models.
-
- The 3D models created by PhotoModeler LX can be used with other
- 3D programs such as TrueSpace, AutoCAD and 3D Studio.
-
- PhotoModeler LX can also output VRML files with photographic
- textures extracted right from the original photographs.
-
- This demo version of PhotoModeler LX is a real working version of
- the program with a few features missing. You can unlock this
- demo and turn it into a full working copy of PhotoModeler LX
- by ordering an authorization code from Eos Systems Inc.
-
-

-
- Note: Due to limits of the working demo (max. 4 photos, max. 50 3D points) not
- all the PhotoModeler projects in the PMProject directories can be loaded by
- PhotoModeler LX while it is in demo mode. For each example there is at least one
- PMR project file that can be loaded but it may not be very detailed. Also the
- projects are setup to work with LX and LX demo so they are not detailed on
- purpose. Better models can be generated from these photos with LX in full mode or
- with the PhotoModeler Pro product.
-
-
- How to Use
- ----------
- What you can do with the info on this CD:
- 1) Load the example VRML models output by PhotoModeler into a
- VRML browser, and/or
- 2) Display the screen captures of Netscape with the models loaded, and/or
- 2) Install PhotoModeler, load the PhotoModeler example projects and
- create your own VRML/DXF files.
-
- To play with the VRML files make sure you have a Web browser with VRML 1.0
- support installed on your system. Note: not all VRML browsers handle
- the photo-textured output of PhotoModeler. Netscape with its
- Live3D VRML plug-in does a very good job with these files. Just go to
- the VRML sub-directories under the Examples directory and load the
- .wrl files into your VRML Web browser. Spin the models around and
- enjoy!
-
- To install the PhotoModeler LX Working Demo, make sure you have 5MB of
- free disk space on your main hard-drive and then run the pmlxins.exe file
- right from the CD. This will install PhotoModeler LX on your machine. You
- can then load any of the .pmr (PhotoModeler Project) files found under
- Examples or do the CRT tutorial project as described in the Getting
- Started Section of the help file.
-
- Following the help file while you do the tutorial can be difficult so the
- tutorial documentation is also available in the pmlxgets.exe file which
- allows you to print it out.
